Villa La Skala - Skala Eressos, Lesvos

   
Lesvos island is easily accessible by ferry or plane from Athens, not to mention charter flights from many European cities and the United States.

The daily ferry (Blue Star Ferries) leaves Piraeus Port in the evening to arrive at Mytilini or Sigri early the next morning. The recommended ferries are the "Mytilini" and the "Theofilos" and the high-speed "Aeolos" which makes the journey in six hours. There are also routes from the port of Lavrio, another major port serving Athens..

If you prefer to fly to Lesvos, there are at least 8 daily flights to and from Athens International Airport, "Eleftherios Venizelos". The carriers are Aegean Airlines and Olympic Airlines, offering direct flights to Mytilini. Alternatively you may elect to book through the Charter Flight Centre for flights from the U.K. and Ireland.

There are also direct charter flights from the UK (London/Gatwick, Manchester), Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Norway and Switzerland.

Most people who book their trip to Eressos arrange to have a taxi transfer or to take a local bus. There is regular bus service on the island. Skala Eressos is about a 1h-1h30' drive from Mytilini, the capital of Lesvos island.

In Skala Eressos, there are travel agencies that can offer you ferry line and airline tickets, foreign currency exchange, telephone fax and E-mail services. Also they can suggest some ideas on how to spend your summer holiday and what to do in order to have a cheap vacation!
